First Day a Success!!!

Levi absolutely loved it. I just hope that it will be this awesome on Thursday.

He told me all that he did on the way home. The letter A was the subject of the day.

Show and tell is Thursday and he can't wait to show his friends his ambulance and police car.

Ms. Steph is also having an ambulance come to her house of Friday and Levi can't stop talking about it.

I can't believe that Levi is already going to school.

Shane and I heard of an amazing preschool teacher in our neighborhood. He will be attending her preschool class 2 days a week (Tue & Thurs) until May. I am so excited for him.

He didn't want his picture taken so he wouldn't smile and decided to be silly as well.

Eating his favorite breakfast to activate the brain to learn tons this school year.

Absolutely Crazy SUMMER!!

Lets just say that Olivia is literally everywhere and into everything.

We all went to the parade hoping that it would be an enjoyment. Levi ABSOLUTELY loved it especially the fire trucks. Olivia would not stop going into the middle of the road.

Aunt Leslie came to visit in July. We Miss her SO MUCH!!!

Every morning Shane takes the kids for a bike ride and end up at the local parks for a couple of hours. The kids love the rides and the exploring.

Shane and I went to Park City with his brother and their family. Levi was out of control excited to ride the alpine slide. I waited at the bottom to catch a few Pict's. Levi also rode the airplane and carousel.

And lastly we took the kids on the tracks train to downtown Salt lake to wonder around down town and Temple square. No matter where we go Olivia is always finds dirt and goes to town. She definitely does not mind to be dirty.

This past week we have been finishing our back yard/

garden area as well as replacing some plants that did

not make it through the winter. Cute Olivia was hanging out with

with me inside while watching her dad digging holes for our

burning brushes.

Growing up way too fast

Levi turns 3 this next month and Olivia has already turned 1.

Miss Olivia is in to everything. Her most fascinated locations in the house are the toilets and garbage cans. Some of her activities are, cruising the furniture, crawling at extreme speeds, and playing patty cake while standing unassisted. It is so cute to see/hear her crawl. She slaps her right hand harder on the ground as she crawls. Her other way of getting around is being dragged by her brother.
Levi is becoming such a big brother. Besides dragging around Olivia he gets her to laugh so hard she gags. He also roughs her up a bit. Last night he was telling me how he pushed Olivia over and she fell and got an owie and that dad put him in time out. Then he tells me that he shouldn't have gone to time out cuz he had an owie too. He loves driving G-pa Chard's red truck in the field and talks about it every night before going to bed.

Jamie + Mom and Dads+ Lots of snow= Snowmobiling. And sure was it a ton of fun.

Jamie came down to visit for her birthday. My sister TeArie , B-in-L Josh and nephew Daxton came down to visit as well. The kids were a riot and the chatting was great. The kids made Valentine cookies for their dads, at least the other dads got their cookies. Levi couldn't part with this one.

Swimming Lessons

As you can see Levi progressed from anticipation, complete panic, leading to unsure, and finally full excitement. Levi loves to swim. After each lesson the instructors had to remove Levi from the water because he would not come out willingly. We have signed him up for swimming lessons again in May, I only hope that they are just as successful.

Shane told me the other day that the day after we celebrated Christmas Levi came running out of his room and wanted round 2 of santa. How cute.

What Olivia is up to.

-Olivia has figured out that our food is a heck of a lot better than baby food.

- She is a very picky eater

-She is really close to crawling. She actually crawls but goes backwards which gets her really frustrated so she army crawls to get where she wants.

-She is 20lbs at 9months!

-She has been sick since Turkey day. And currently has 2 ear infections.

-Loves her baths

-Wears 12-18mo. clothes

-She loves wrestling with Levi

-She flips out when you walk by her and don't pick her up

What Levi has been up to:

-Talking more and more.

-Potty training is still ongoing.

-loves to lock himself in the bathroom

-Goes to time out when told (most of the time)

-Loves playing with is cousin AUSTIN. Any mention of Austin's name and Levi flips out. They have so much fun together

-enjoys feeding grandpa chards horses their cereal and grass

-Can't go to sleep with out his ambulance and fire truck.

-He has had 2 colds so far.

-Keeps me running and running!!!!!!

Ok.... Everything has been so hecktic around here. Full time is crazy but I love it. It makes things really busy at home between the kids, studying and the house it has been really hard to just sit and take a breath for a few minutes. Shane does such a great job with keeping up with the kids and house that I don't need to worry about anything.

So lately we have been trying to potty train Levi. It is going rather well. On Sunday Levi asked me if he could pee in the water..... Light bulb went on in my head. "aaaahhhh hhhhaaaa!" this is my cue, so off we went. After a few times Levi said just before finishing this was our conversation

Levi: " Shake it mom Shake it...."

Me: "what do you mean shake it" (as I glance over seeing him trying to shake while on the potty)

Levi: "Shake it, I need to Shake it.

Me: "no honey you need to wipe it. Wiping is better"

I hand him a square of TP, he wipes and flushes. Now only if I could get Shane to teach Levi the same :)

Still no luck in getting Olivia to eat any thing other then milk. I guess you just keep trying. With halloween just around the corner I am excited to take many pictures of my cute little ones. So stay tuned for more....

Currently I am enjoying a wonderful house full of SILENCE!!!!!!!!

Both kids are down for their naps and I cringe every time I think that I hear one of them stir.

I am about to embark on a new phase of my nursing career in a couple of weeks. Which has me a bit nervous. I am leaving my home of 6 years on IMSU at Primary children's and moving to the Newborn ICU. Although it is just across the hall it is going to be awesome, challenging and exciting. After long discussions Shane and I decided that it would be necessary for me to go full time for the next while (most likely 2 years) I am in dire need of some serious PTO. As of right now I have 4 hrs to my name and if one of the kids gets sick and I have to stay home (more cost effective) things start getting tight around here. And if you know me I hate being tight. So why not. And to top it all off, I was just notified of my schedule and it couldn't be better. Pretty much a dream schedule. I will not BE WORKING ANY MORE NIGHTS!!!!!!! Yes you heard me correctly. NO MORE NIGHTS!!! I will be working a set schedule of every Friday and Monday and every other Saturday and Sunday. It works out to be every other week I will be working 4 in a row. That to me is very minor compared to working NIGHTS!!!!!!

Lately Levi has been really involved with Olivia

it has been really cute to see him

play with her. He gets her to laugh

really hard, I will have to get it on record they have the

exact same laugh it cracks me up.

He practically body slams her and tickles her.

When ever she cries Levi always states "UH OH, baby"

and then runs to her side.

My little man has had me in time out

so many times this past week that I care

not to number. He is going though a phase

where he will only take a nap 1 -2 times a week.

I live for those naps. He also is having a

hard time expressing what he wants and if

we don't guess it with in a fraction of a second

he completely FLIPS out to the point of almost vomiting.

I hope that this phase goes rather quickly.

Solid time sweety. You can't live off of breast milk

your whole life. (My frozen supply just might make it that far)

Shane and I started feeding Olivia solids this past

week and it is not going well. Her tongue is so

quick and difficult to get past. We even tried

Bananas, every kid likes banana baby food right?

She prefers Alphabet cereal. Every time we have her in the

bumbo while we are eating cereal she practically

lunges out of her seat to get to the cereal boxes. Baby steps

little one baby steps.

He kept putting brown eye shadow in her eye instead

perfecting her raspberry spits. Her clothes get so wet, from her raspberry spitting and constant spitting up, I have to do at least one load of her cloths every day. Not to mention all the carpet cleaning from her spit up.

Levi is now going through a phase where

he hates his diaper being changed. Before

when it was time for diaper changes he would

be the first to sit down and HOLD STILL!!! Now

it is a game of WHO CAN CATCH ME first followed by

screaming and kicking. Last night Shane changed

a poopy one and poop was flying everywhere!!!!!

The other day the kids and I were in the car and out of no where

I hear Levi yell "OH, COME ON!!!!", "OH, GOSH!" and

"CRAP!" Looking around trying to figure out what

he was referring to, I then realized that I was approaching

a slow moving car in the fast lane. Laughing my head off, I

remembered that my driving was much like what my mother's

was when I was growing up. Me and my siblings would sing Cruel la Devil when my mom would do the same thing behind the wheel. (We still singtoday!)

Levi picks up things so fast (obviously as stated above:). He now can identify 24 of the 26 letters of the Alphabet. Now we need to work on his colors. Does anyone have

any tips on how to accomplish that task? I have tried and his attention span is 5 seconds.

so excited to help. A couple of nights ago it was

pizza night (his favorite). This was his pizza. You

have to love the mound of cheese in the middle.

As you can probably tell, Olivia has grown

a ton. I believe that she is approx 16 + lbs.

I have completely lost track. We have her 4 month check up on

the 20th, so I am curious to find out.

Lately I have begun to notice truly how opposite Levi and Olivia are.

Levi was a predictable eater

Olivia we have no clue. One minute she is satisfied and another minute she is screaming her head off like she has not eaten all day.

Levi's bottle had to have the fastest flow humanly possible

Olivia's bottle has to be the slowest flow humanly possible or she drowns

Levi never had colic

Olivia was screaming most of the first month and a half

Levi never slept through the night until he was 10 months old

Olivia has been sleeping through the night for the past month

Levi loved a binki

Olivia absolutely dispises the binki

Levi never sucked on his thumb

Olivia loves her Right thumb

Levi was a predictable pooper and never had a blow out

Olivia she can go up to 5-6 days with out any and then with out warning it is all over everything and deeply thick.

Levi's baby farts were undetectable

Olivia's are deadly

Everything around here has been just that CRAZY!

From trying to get the kids on some what of the same schedule to making sure that Levi is getting enough one on one time. Levi is more accepting of Olivia now, but you can tell when he isn't getting enough one on one. Olivia has colic/reflux pretty bad making it really hard to sit down, even for a few minutes, to be with Levi. To keeping the house picked up, laundry done, and a meal to eat. I can't tell you how sick of cereal I am. Oh and I can't forget...trying to get our back yard finished. We have all but 3 trees to plant and weeding the garden area. Maternity leave wasn't very relaxing. :)

I start back to work this week. I am really EXCITED!!! I miss everything about work, especially my friends.

Oh... and I CHOPPED my hair off!!! and it is no longer Blonde :)

I have yet to take a picture of it. I will do my best to get one posted tomorrow :)

Olivia decided to join us at the most

unfortunate time. Shane and I have

had a serious Upper Respiratory Infection

for the past week. I am surprised

that I didn't just cough her out :) So we are

having to wear masks 24/7 in an attempt

to keep her from getting sick.

I can't believe how tiny she looks,

and then I think back to when Levi

was born and he was a whopping 2 lbs

lighter.

OLIVIA IS HERE!!!

Olivia IS HERE!!!

Our beautiful Olivia arrived in a very fast fashion at 1:11 am 3/20. Other than some serious drama (almost not making it to the hospital, not having any medication, SLOW mo RN..... to name a few)she is Healthy and ADORABLE!!! She swallowed some Meconium during delivery. Luckly it was thin and a very small amount (and hasn't had any respiratory issues thus far). I think Shane told me 16 cc's. Her glucose was also a problem at delivery... 37 . It wouldn't come up with a bottle so she ended up needing an IV and getting Sugar through that for about 36 hrs.

With the DRAMA , she and I are doing well. Levi is adjusting. Shane is able to take a month off to be home with us.

Scary Moment!

Scary, at least for me.

This morning I get Levi up, change his diaper and get him dressed for the day. Upon putting him down on the ground he drops to the floor and cries. He then begins to tell me OOOOWWWWWWEEEEEE! Mommy! OOOOOOOWWWWWWWWEEEEEEE! and grabbing his left leg (he never says that). So I started racking my brain to try and come to a conclusion as to why in the world he would be grabbing his left leg and not walking. Levi then proceeds to crawl down the hall to the living room, and all this time I am thinking "He hates crawling, why in the world is he not walking." I try and encourage him to stand on his feet and he refuses.

Then my brain starts ticking ... the first thing that comes to mind of course is the worst thing possible........ bone infection/cancer (what can you say I am a nurse.... don't we always think of the worst possible things when it comes to our own kids. :), then the more realistic thoughts start pouring in.....could this be simple growing pains.... could it be something broken, sprained (and if so how, when, where)... on and on ....

I call the pediatrician and he recommends to come in for a visit/possible x-ray. So the appointment is set and now we wait....... after a little coaxing Levi starts to bare weight and then starts walking....... What a sigh of relief....... after watching him for about 45min (he is walking and running by now) I decide to cancel the appointment and come to the conclusion that Levi must have slept in a really weird position. No more than 10 min's later, Levi starts complaining about his left leg and crawling again. I decided to take him in to his doctor. I couldn't just sit around all day wondering. I needed to find out why and of course for my peace of mind.

The doctor came to the conclusion that Levi has Synovitis in his left hip joint. For those of you who are wondering what in the world is Synovitis.... well, it is inflammation of the synovial membrane, which lines the joints that posses cavities (knee, hip ect.) and it is usually painful. The doctor recommended Mortin 2-3 times a day for 5 days. If it doesn't go away then we need to do imaging studies to make sure that there is no infection in or around his joint/hip bone. Let's just pray that this is just inflammation and not infection..Levi has had no signs of fever in the last few days and I hope it stays that way. Here is to hoping that 5 days will come and go with no complaints and wwaaahhhoooo on to more destruction.

Ear Plugs and Stickers

While I was cleaning the house yesterday morning Levi found some of Shane's earplugs. The first thing he usually does with them is put them in his mouth and says MMMMM! MMMMMM! That alone makes me want to puke. So I decided to show him what they really were for. I placed them in his ears. Oddly enough they fit. Then he started yelling at the top of his lungs and laughing. It was the cutest thing...

Later that night Levi was playing in his room and things got really quiet.... Shane proceeds to see what our monster was up to. Levi had found some stickers... it was so cute!

Levi the fearless one!

Changing light bulbs in our house is rather difficult.

You can't just stand on a chair and wwwaaallllaaa the

bulb is changed. Now we need a ladder, not just any ladder

a HUGE one, and not to mention that Levi loves to climb.

Put two and two together and you have the above.

He would have gone all the way to the top stair, but

Shane and I didn't want to get that far. I could only imagine

him throwing a fit and down he goes.

Lately Levi has been getting way to fast for me to catch.

He knows when the best time to RUN and that is immediately

after his bath or in the middle of a diaper change. With my

center of gravity off kilter, I am delayed somewhat :) He loves to

run through the house in his birthday suit and blanket.

First Official Snow Fall!

It's about time....Offically the first real snow fall of the
season came the other day. So I decided to dress
Levi up warm and head out for some play time.
It was so cute, all he would do was shuffle through the snow.
At one point he touched it and started crying. He didn't realize
that it was cold.

The next thing I know he is in the street and running as fast as

he can go straight to Grandma Cheney's house

I tried diverting him but it was no use, so off

we went.

Luckly she was home. Who knows what would

have happened if we came home empty

handed. (note Reeses peanut butter cup in his hand)

It is so funny he knows exactly who to go to and where

to get what he wants. :)

Our Christmas Trees!!!!

Our Christmas trees are here!!!!
For the last 5 years I have wanted a Christmas
tree personally made by my very talented Aunt Susy, Uncle Doug and Cousin Mia.
And this year I was able to talk Shane into letting me get it for a
combined gift for my Birthday and Christmas.

This is Levi's Thomas the Train Tree.
Levi loves this tree. Every morning we
plug it in and all he can say is OOOOOHHHHHHH....
OOOOHHHHHHHH......

He then reaches out and touches/holds the trains,
going around to each one that he can touch continuing with
the OOOHHHHH..... OOOHHHH..... Sometimes he will stand back and
just scream with excitement. The Trains are wired on
really good so that when he touches them they don't fall off.
Susy, Doug and Mia you all did such an amazing job on them. Thank you!

Yes! that is correct.....

I am pregnant! I am 3.5 months along and still THROWING UP! I have come to accept the fact that this pregnancy is going to be just like it was with Levi and refunding is going to be a normal activity of the day :) A few things are different... I have to take 2 Zofran (pills to keep me from throwing up too much) with Levi it was one. The nausea and refunding is all day and progressively gets worse at night (with Levi it was worse in the morning). Maybe it is a GIRL! :)

Since Levi was 2 months early my doctor wants me to recieve Progesterone shots once a week for 10 weeks in hopes of keeping the little peanut in there as long as possible. I start those in 2 weeks. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Shane is convinced that it is a Boy and has already named him Carson. It is so cute to see him sooooo excited.

I did it! My first 10K and crossed the finish line in just under and hour. I think it was 57 min. It was such a blur, I was so excited to be done. The weather was great and it wasn't too hot.

Trying not to laugh, I saw a guy on the side of the road barfing up his guts just after mile two ......... in my head I was thinking that some people take these fun runs WAY TOO SERIOUSLY... And MAN WERE THERE A TON OF PEOPLE THAT HAD SOME SERIOUS BODY ODOR. It was poisoning the much needed clean air that it was trying to inhale. :) Then at the end it couldn't have gotten any worse when all of the sweaty people were herded through a small area of fruit and bagels...... stuffy and sweaty mmmmmmm lets take a bite of that bagel. Your chances of getting someone elses sweat all over the bagel were so high that I used my hand to shield it..I wanted it pretty bad :)

We almost didn't make it. Thanks to Shane and his great driving skills (which happened to be the first time that I witnessed him passing others on the freeway) he got me to the start line with 2 min to spare. Shane was such a trooper. Last night he didn't get home from work until 11pm due to a Life Flight that he had to go on. Luckily it was only to Wyoming. So he was running off of 4 hrs of sleep.

Megan and Nick were married in the South Jordan Temple Saturday July 12th at 11:30am. She was so pretty. I was not able to get pictures with my camera due to Levi FREAKING OUT most of the time, but I will get some posted soon.

The weather was great.... a bit hot....but survivable :)

Megan had an outdoor reception in Peterson, Ut

Which turned out perfect. The kids loved the chocolate fountain (who wouldn't) along with the strawberries, pretzels and rice crispies. My cousin did an amazing job on the wedding cake. ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS!!! And yes Marcela you need to start a professional cake decorating business.

These last few weeks have been really crazy.

Shane and I put in our front yard -HURRAY-,

To any of you out there that want to put in a drip system for your yard or garden I highly recommend it. You control how much water gets to each plant/tree/shrub. After you put it in you can always add new lines to new plants. The one thing that I suggest is not to get the tubing that has the holes already there. You have less control of where you plant things. You can over water or even underwater your plants. There is a lot of twisting and bending therefore needing much more tubing. It is really easy to do once you have your funny pipe in place.

We had our basement framed!

This will be the future family room/theater room. We knock down a door pop out so that the room would be bigger, that is why the carpet is ticking out into the room.

I am standing in Levi's future room looking toward the hallway and an adjacent bedroom.

This is the basement bathroom.

The guys that framed our basement were AMAZING! (Big Z Construction) I also had some shelves put in my fruit room (so excited about that one) and they will be coming back in a month to do shelves in our garage and closing off our office walls so that it is more of a separate room.

A few things Levi is doing:

- Army crawling (and picking up speed), within a moments time he is out of the room and 3/4 way down the hall.

-Pulling himself up on furnature and not realizing that he has to hold on

-Thanks to Megan he shakes his head NO! especially when he is eating.

-Sleeping through the night

-Loves to play hide and seek. All I have to say is "Where is my Levi!" , you hear a squeel and bump ...draaaaggg.....giggle giggle...bump....draaaggg... giggle..giggle before I know it he is peeking around a corner trying to locate me.

-Finding himself in tight spaces (pict above) Levi gets stuck everywhere. I hear him playing and moving around then a cry of frustration (he can't sit up) and that is what I found. Levi stuck between the shelfs of our TV stand.

Eye Exam

No Lazy Eye ! Hurray! For the last few months we have been noticing that Levi's left eye would turn in occasionally, more often when he was tired, and there is a strong history on Shane's side of the family so we decided to have it checked out. Levi's exam was flawless and the doc couldn't detect anything so he recommended that we need to still keep a close eye :) on it for the next 6 months.

Levi is more and more active these days. Here are a few pictures of the last few days.

Ok, I don't know what happened to me in the picture in the last post but oh my goodness, you would think that my eye was swollen shut. Anyway....

This year we welcomed little Levi to our family. Levi arrived on May 21, 2007 at 9:20 a.m.. Two months earlier than originally planned. Here is a quick low down, everything went great until about 33 weeks. After all the tests being negative, we couldn't find any reason why I started laboring so early but here is my philosophy.....I decided to pick up an extra shift at work (I had scaled back to part time in March) My patient assignment would be light and the unit was short nurses. Well needless to say one of my patients went south soon after I arrived to work. The baby started coughing up bright red blood, hematocrit was 32 at first check, second check 15-20 min later while giving fluid boluses, the second hematocrit was 16, with blood pressure falling. The baby had some kind of internal bleeding and we didn't know why. Needless to say I transferred the baby to PICU. Come to find out the baby had a rather large ulcer the size of its stomach. While standing at the PICU bedside giving report I started contracting and they never fully stopped until Levi arrived. I went to the hospital hoping that we could get them stopped... 2 steroid shots and 36 hrs later we had a crying baby weighing in at 4 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long.

(Levi had jaundice for 2 weeks and had to be under bili-light)

Levi did not have any complications and didn't require any oxygen. They had me deliver in the OR so that we could pass him through a window to the Neonatoligists in the NICU quickly just in case he had had any complications they could attend to him. That moment was the most terrifying moment in my life. Hearing him cry for a brief moment and seeing him being carried away. Levi stayed in the hospital for 3 weeks learning how to eat and grow. Luckily it was only three weeks, they wanted to keep him for 2 more weeks but Shane and I convinced Levi's pediatrician that we were more than qualified at taking him home (You can't get any better than having a mom as a nurse and dad as a respiratory therapist). He was eating on his own with all feeds 3 hrs apart and gaining weight WHY NOT? Within 48 hrs of being home Levi was eating better and putting on the ounces.

I am blessed to have such a wonderful husband who was there for me every night that I had to come home with out my Levi. Once home, Shane was able to take a month off which I am truly thankful for. Even now Shane never hesitates to change a diaper(even if it is stinky), feed Levi a bottle, or for some one on one time so that I could catch up on some much needed sleep.

Shane is a back up supervisor and a member of the life flight (fixed wing) team in the Respiratory department. He really enjoys the challenges that they all bring but still wants more. Who knows what he might be doing next!

As for me I have taken on a new challenge. I am a preceptor/integrator for nursing students and new nurses on the Infant unit. Lately, I have been offered a charge nurse position but don't feel quite ready for that move so I decided to take a step out of my comfort zone of nursing and teach new nurses. I hope to teach them how to be a nurse that is an advocate, alert , and confident. Taking care of babies is so much fun. I LOVE what I do and hope that I make a difference in peoples' lives.

Shane and I have truly been blessed this year. We are thankful to be surrounded by such loving and supportive family. I hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

A few facts about me

- First and foremost I am extremely TERRIFIED of spiders. Microscopic to HUGE!!!! the size doesn't matter they are ALL HUGE, GIGANTIC..... and they all ATTACK!

-I love being a Wife and a Mom.

- I can't stand it when things are not put in their perspective places. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. (sorry megan)

-I would rather scrub the bathroom than do grocery shopping and laundry, but I do enjoy ironing, 90% of my clothes have to be ironed

- I am the worst decorator, our poor house still does not have anything hanging on the walls (except for the (3) floral arrangements my mom made) she has the best eye for those things.

- I ABSOLUTELY love to run.. it is the best stress reliever ever.

- My favorite action figure of all time is BUZZ LIGHTYEAR..... TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

- I love to laugh

- The Office (Dwight is my favorite) and Seinfeld are my favorite TV shows reruns never get old..

- Spending time with family is very important to me

- It really bugs me when people don't pick up their feet when they walk

A calculator is a Nurses best friend (found this at staples and bought 4, you can never have too many)

- I look up to my parents for their wisdom

- I am the worst back seat driver,and I do admit that at times I can get aggressive behind the wheel (that usually only happens if I am late somewhere)

- It drives me crazy when people are late and I HATE BEING LATE. Shane doesn't mind and it makes me want to scream

- Wearing socks drives me crazy. As soon as I am in the door shoes and socks off.

- My brother and I accidentally started our house on fire when we were 2-3 yrs old.

I love watermelon

and HATE seafood

- my favorite beverage is lemonade and sprite mixed half and half...... mmmmmmmmmmm REFRESHING....

- I have this awful habit of not thinking things through before doing them... for example one Christmas I was putting up a real tree that a roommates dad had given us and it needed a small branch to be removed in order to fit in the tree stand..... of coarse I don't have a saw so the next best thing was a bread knife.... sawing away (it worked quite nicely) once done I thought "Oh no now this is not sharp..." with out hesitation I whipped out my index finger and sliced a way. As soon as I had cut my finger it dawned on me that that could have been the most stupid thing I have ever done... why didn't I think #1 then #2 why my finger. Luckily it wasn't a bad cut and it healed quite nicely. Every time I look at a bread knife, I think "THOSE KNIVES ARE ALWAYS SHARP" with a smile on my face :) I am so thankful that this doesn't happen very often.

1. Where did you meet your husband? Shane and I met at Utah State University. (this is kind of long so bare with me). We had several sports classes together, and several times during our football class the thought would come to me "Man that guy would be perfect to be married to, then I would say to myself are you kidding me he is so out of your league." that was in Aug and Sept. Well in Oct we had volleyball and basketball after a few weeks into these classes I started noticing that every once in a while a stray basketball or volleyball would be coming my way (we still haven't said a word to each other yet) that started happening after he witnessed me complete 11 lay-ups in 1 min (and not to mention my jump shot). Then came swimming class in November :) Two days after Turkey day Shane came to my work and asked me out (he had a friend with him for moral support). We have been inseparable since.

2. What is the first thing you said to your husband? Hi, what are you doing here?

3. Where was your first date? We started off first at his grandma Cheney's (every Wednesday he would drive to Bear River to visit his grandma) and the date happened to be on Wednesday. She was so cute we had dinner (take out from Peach City and watched Wheel of Fortune), when it was time to leave(we were meeting Shane's buddies in Layton). Shane took me to the car, ran back into the house to say good bye to his grandmother, she told him to take one of her roses from her garden and give it to me. (she helped him out a ton when it came to the romantic stuff :). I can't remember what movie we saw because we ended up walking out on half of it and went to the last part of Monster's INC.

4. Where was your first kiss? at his grandma Cheney's house

5. Did you have a long or short courtship/engagement? We dated for 4 weeks and engaged for 5 months.

6. Where did you get engaged? Unofficially at a stoplight on 1000 West and 200 North in Logan on our way home from grandma Cheney's. Shane said out of the blue.....Hey, what do you think about getting married?"...... my response....."Sure, that sounds like fun".... officially at the restaurant on top of the Joseph Smith Memorial building in February

7. Where were you married? We were married on May 11, 2002 in the Salt Lake Temple. I had to be up at 4 am to have my hair done..(if I could do it over again I would have done it myself :)... and to top it off we were married at 7am... ( I would change that also:) it was cute the temple worker came in the bride room and said "Shane looks really sick... should I offer some saltine crackers?"

8. How did your reception go? other than my cake melting and trying to find homes for the gold fish.... it went great...... (and I would have changed my reception to be on the day after instead of the same day:)

9. How was the honeymoon? It was awesome. Shane and I had planned to stay in SLC at the anniversary inn (not impressed) we didn't have much money. Luckily Shane's buddies got us tickets to fly out to Las Vegas and a two night stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. We had a blast other than paying 10 dollars for a foot long subway sandwich.

I can't believe it. Shane called me yesturday at work to tell me that Levi had almost rolled over... Well today was the day. He rolled for the first time from tummy to back. After a couple of rolls he started spitting up so we stopped for a while. His tummy wasn't so sure about it. Sometimes he gets his arm stuck and he tries to roll and it hurts his arm so assistance is needed every once in awhile.

Saturday at Grandma & Grandpa Chard's

I had no idea that cat tail's were soft, for some reason I always thought that the brown part (the cat tail) was hard. Well I learned yesturday that they are really soft but you have to be really delicate with them or you are covered in little seeds. Dad and I went walking in what we call (the field). It is a piece of land that my dad partially own's with his siblings. In the very back (my dad's portion) there is a large area of cat tails. Anyway dad snaps one off and says look, as he was bringing it around for me to view he touches it and (me not expecting it) POOF! I was startled at first, mainly cuz I thought that it was hard. Every inch of dad's head was covered. Spitting and sputtering as we laughed. It was fun to spend some one on one with pops. Love you DADDY.

Lately Levi gets a kick out of noises that people make. You make a noise and he starts to smile and then he gets this look (very serious) like what are you doing. After a while he decides that it is funny and will laugh. Grandma loves to give him baths so every time we visit he gets a dunking, the only thing is is that we have only two places to bathe, the tub (in a bathroom barely big enough for one medium sized person and kills your back if you lean over the tub) or the kitchen sink. It is rather big, but for a babe that loves to splash and sprowl it doesn't seem to work as well. It is working for now but before long we are going to have to sacrefice our backs for some splash time. :)

Precious moments

It is nice to finally have a day off and hang out with my little guy. I worked the last two days, and am extremely tired, both days I ended up leaving at 8 pm when I usually am out of there by 7:15. I guess I can't be in control of situations that fall apart at the end of the shift. I am only working part time (2 days a week (12 hr shifts)) and am loving it. At first I thought that I would like to remain full time but like everyone said prior to Levi's arrival I would be changing my mind quickly.... and that I did. I have a hard time leaving him but am glad to get away for a few hours.

Some precious moments that Levi did today .........

1. I have concluded that he loves to hear the sound of his cute voice. Today it was non stop cooing.

2. His giggling. I do this thing were he stands on my feet (while I am sitting on the couch) and his body is resting on my legs, his face just above my knees and I hold onto his pants so he doesn't fall. I start off slow bringing my knees to my chest so that his head and my head almost touch. He giggles so hard that it gives him the hick-ups. To top it off it is a great work out for the abs.
